An easy and delicious dessert!
Clafoutis pinit

Introducing Raspberry Clafoutis, a delightful dessert that may seem complex, but in reality, it’s incredibly easy to make. Originating from France, this dessert traditionally features cherries, and the name is believed to have roots in the Occitan language, where “Clafir” means “to fill.”

However, don’t be limited by tradition! One of the fantastic aspects of Clafoutis is its versatility. You can easily substitute other fruits and still achieve wonderful results. In this recipe, we’ll be using raspberries. Start by washing a pack of fresh raspberries and placing them in a bowl. Sprinkle them with a bit of sugar while you prepare the remaining ingredients.

The beauty of Clafoutis lies in its simplicity. It requires basic pantry staples and minimal effort. Once the batter is prepared and poured over the fruit, the magic happens in the oven. The result is a luscious, custard-like dessert with bursts of sweet-tart raspberry flavor.

Whether you’re looking to impress guests or simply satisfy your sweet tooth, Raspberry Clafoutis is a fantastic choice. So gather your ingredients, preheat your oven, and get ready to indulge in this delectable French treat.

Description

Probably one of the easiest desserts you can make, where it looks complicated but it is not! It seems to be originated in France and is usually made with cherries the name seems to have been derived from Clafir or to fill which is Occitan a romantic language from the south of France.

You can however substitute other fruit and still get wonderful results. In this case, I used raspberries. Just get a pack of raspberries and after washing them put them in a bowl and add some sugar. While you prepare the rest.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Butter the pan, select a pan you can put in the oven or a use a pie dish. Next, mix all the ingredients in a bowl or you can use an electric mixer. I start with the eggs, butter and sugar then add the flour and slowly add the liquids last: milk, cream, and the vanilla extract make sure I don't get any lumps.
  2. Place the fruit or raspberries in the pan or pie dish and pour the liquid over it. Place it in the oven at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown then let it cool for a few minutes before using a colander shake some powdered sugar on top. Cut and serve!
